About us, we are a young couple that runs an Eco Tourism Hotel outside of Olmue (Chile), in the ecologically protected zone of Quebrada Alvarado. The hotel nicely combines nature with comfort, being surrounded by mountains and offering the following services for our guests:

Olmue is located in the 5 region of Chile, in the center of the country and has a very nice climate (Warm in summer and not to cold in winter). Its located approximately 1 hour from Santiago (Our Capital), 40 minutes from Viña del Mar (Beach city) or 50 minutes from Valparaiso (was declared a World heritage a couple of years ago).

We also have our own Beer Brewery, so if you are interested in the brewery process we could show you how it works and we have a lot of beer :)

In your free time you can obviously use the installations of the Hotel (Swimming pool, sauna, Disco, etc)

The restaurant of the hotel provides the alimentation service for our regular staff and you are welcome to join them and get to know them better. We will also provide a special kitchen for the workawayers where you can prepare your own meal or a snack when the restaurant is closed.

You will need to take care of transportation to Chile (Santiago) and of getting an international insurance. Sometimes we can arrange a pick up at the airport, depending on the hour and date of your arrival. If we cannot pick you up, we will provide instructions on how to get to our Hotel by bus (not that hard)

We are very flexible about the duration of your stay, since we need people for all the seasons. So if we get along fine, there is no problem with you staying here for a long time and if you just want to stay 1 months, that’s fine with us to.

It´s also important that you have an outgoing personality, that you are fun to be with and that you are able to create a good mood, so that if there are only a few customers, they still have a good time at our hotel (There are also going to be other work and travelers… so it´s not just you, but it’s important that you as a team are able to accomplish this)

We speak English, German and obviously Spanish (We have had people who don’t speak Spanish, and it’s no problem, but obviously it’s a bit easier to communicate with our regular staff if you do have some basic knowledge of the language).

We are looking for enthusiastic young people, that are fun to be with and that are willing to help us with our project.

The main areas you would be helping us are:
•Waitressing and Bartending at the restaurant
•Helping in the Brewery (Yes, we have our own brewery, so if you like beer, we have a lot of it)
•Resort Team (Partying with the guests and creating a good mood)
•Tracking guides
•Helping with outside activities
•Gardening and watering the plants
•Cleaning (Restaurant cleaning, room service, Swimming pool maintenance, etc)
•Helping out in other areas when needed depending on your skills.


About the working hours, they are relative. Under the week, if there are no customers staying at the hotel, you will mostly have a relaxed day, just helping us with some cleaning, maintenance and keeping everything in order… on the other hand, if we have customers, there may be days that are quite exhausting, starting early and ending late (not so much because of the actual work, but because of the entertaining activities for the customers, like outside activities
during the day (sports, tours, etc), karaoke or other activities during the night, etc… and we expect from you that you are fully engaged, just like we are. Now, obviously the idea is to have fun to, so if we make you work hard one day, we will try to compensate it with a lower load on another day. Also feedback or ideas from you to make you stay more fun are always welcome… it’s just important that you speak up, so that we know if you are not having fun and we can find a
solution.

Spanish English German

We will provide accommodation in the hotel, in a guest house for workawayers. The house has internet access, bathroom and his own kitchen.

Some extra info:
- Summer season in Chile is from November to March (20 C° to 35 C° normally)
- Winter season starts around June or July until august or middle September (5 C° to 25 C° normally on the day) (There are some places near of us, about 1 to 2 hours by car, where winter sports are practiced (Sky and Snow Board))
- Our national days are the 18th and 19th of September, so if you are planning to come around that dates, you should definitely try to arrive a couple of days before, since it’s a big celebration with a lot a typical Chilean activities.
- We receive applications all around the year, but if you already know approximately when you would like to come, we recommend you to apply as soon as possible and so increasing the chances of getting one of the available positions for that date.
