We are a family with two children aged 7 and 5, a daughter and a boy. We have a nice house in a touristic small town, with a swimming pool, not far from Avignon. I am interested in getting the children used to other cultures and to english language: I am looking for an english speaking woman to spend a few hours a day teaching them english in an informal way, or taking care of them. I speak fluently english.Region: Wales
We are a 10 acre smallholding in mid Wales. Two homes -myself Jules and husband Nick in one, and my daughter Rebbecca, and son in law Woef in the other. It`s a beautiful place - woods and fields full of wild flowers, a ceramic studio (available to those interested) a polytunnel with veg, gardens and a tree nursery (see website ). There are always lots of renovations to do, new plans and ideas, good conversation and laughter. We cook great food (one house vegetarian) and brew wonderful beer, so lots to do if it`s raining. We have no livestock at the moment, only 4 wonderful dogs - and a frisbee.Region: Tuscany
We are two bi-lingual and bi-cultural families, one British/Italian and one American/Italian living in a small village in the Appenine mountains in northern Tuscany. Charlotte and Claudio have 2 kids aged 7 and 5 - We run a small construction and property management business from our home and we would love some general help around the house and possibly some childcare and/or office work. We would also be interested in people able to help with building our new home or decorating the one we live in now! Laura and Jimmy have two daughters and would like a general hand in the home and perhaps with some decorating. In return we can offer an amazing experience in a medieval Tuscan hill town filled with friendly outgoing locals who will love to welcome you to their world.Region: Midi Pyrenees
My husband and I are moving to a wonderful old farm in the South of France within the next few weeks. I am 43 and he’s 48 years old and we have 5 children (21, 21, 19, 17 & 11), 1 cat and are planning to buy 2 dogs very soon. My husband is Belgian and loves to cook, and I am English and work for a non-profit AIDS organisation. My 11 year old vegetarian German/English daughter lives with us, the rest of the kids come for visits. The farm is in a beautiful rural area between Toulouse and the Pyrenees, very close to Boulogne sur Gesse. For your free time we have an above ground pool, table tennis, table football, Wii, king size trampoline, dvds and cds, books and magazines, badminton, wireless internet etc. Within walking distance there is a public outdoor pool, boating lake with fishing, shops and a weekly market. The gorgeous city of Toulouse is just one hour away in one direction and the mountains just one hour south!! Nearest airports are Toulouse-Blagnac, Pau-Pyrenees and Tarbes –Lourdes.Region: Idaho
Farm Description We are a Jewish family on a small organic (non-certified) farmstead in foothills of the Rocky mountains in north-central Idaho. We are near the Clearwater River and Clearwater National Forest. We have a large vegetable garden and raise pigeons, goats, chickens and our most special crop, and the reason we live the simple life we do, is our children. Our goals are to raise our family in a healthy, country, close to the earth kind of way. So in order to do that we are wanting to finish building up raised beds in the Garden, get our new greenhouse finished and assemble and start operations in a second one. We will be setting up an area for dairy cows this spring, working on our water ram system for irrigation from our stream, salvaging a logging building and putting up a barn. Stays of at least 1 week to several months are suggested. If things work out well we are open to extended stays. We love community. We can use help from February through October. We expect Workawayers to put in 5 to 6 hours of work a day and since we are Jewish each Sabbath (Saturday) is a day off. We try to leave plenty of time for fun. Transportation from Lewiston ID and Missoula MT areas may be possible. Languages spoken here are English, some Spanish, and a smattering of Hebrew. We are very family friendly and children are more than welcome, as we have a bunch of our own. We are able to accommodate vegetarian and gluten free diets. Nearby attractions; The Clearwater river and fishing, swimming and boating is only 8 miles away. Hot springs are about an hour and half drive up river. Also nearby is the Clearwater National Forest and the Nez Perce Tribal Reservation, so exploring there can be fun as well. We are new to Workaway but old hats at community.
