    Description

Hi I live permanently in my lovely French home in Basse Normandie, surrounded by countryside but only 1.5km from my nearest small town which has many facilities, bank, hairdresser, beauty salon, bakeries, and a small supermarket and 15 minutes in the car to 3 major towns, Conde sur Noireau, Flers & Vire. We are 45 minutes from the Caen - UK ferry and 20 minutes from the railway station with regular trains from Paris. I am now retired but have worked all over the world in the IT industry. I have lived in France since 2006 and love the life, food, people and enjoy having my animals around with their quirky characters. Most are completely free range but never leave the farm so I must be doing something right. I have Internet and UK satellite TV including films, however, it is a very rural community and not a lot of nightlife. We have no light pollution so if you are into stargazing then our night sky's are magnificent. We have bikes and there are many biking and walking trails. There is a car available if you are an experienced driver. The local markets are also interesting and sell everything from linen to fresh food and vegetables to animals. We are in the heart of WW11 country so there is a lot of history regarding the war if that is of interest to you. My son is grown up and living in the USA so it is just me, the animals and local friends.
The house is being renovated in stages and there is still about 12 months work to be done by my local builder. There is a good sized bedroom with TV and internet points in it and a brand new bathroom.

Hello, I live on an old French farm with 6 acres of land and have various animals, all pets and named, the only thing I eat is the eggs, not any of the animals. 2 Arab horses, 3 micro pigs, 1 chinese geese, 2 turkeys, some Indian Runner ducks, some Muscovey ducks and various types of chickens from a plain Jane to some lovely Silkies, plus3 dogs (all rescue ) and several cats , some indoor ,some who live in the barns and manage the local rat and mice population..

I am ill with Lupus and require help now to manage my small farm. I am looking for someone who is more like an animal Au Pair who could stay for a period of 12 months to help with the cleaning, feeding and exercising if necessary of the animals, it takes one person about 2.5 hours a day and I will be doing the work as well. There will be some times when I am away, mostly just 1 to 3 days at any one time plus a holiday but mostly I am here on the farm .I want someone who will also keep their room and bathroom clean and help with the shopping and some house chores, there is a cleaner who comes in once a week. I also needs someone who can do some weekly gardening . I want to keep as close to the French Au Pair program as possible which will require you to join a weekly French language course. This job is working with animals and so can be a little dirty and smelly. It is imperative to me that the animals have clean beds every day and fresh water and food.

I am happy to negotiate the hours and days worked, I will provide, Room including own bathroom, food and facilities. A car is available to use depending on a current driving licence and good driving experience. , I will provide French medical carte Vitale via URSSAF and an agreed payment in line with the French Au Pair scheme.
I would prefer someone from within the EU for the only reason that France is very beaurocratic and it is not easy to get a work visa from outside the EU.
