Area: Downtown BudapestHello everyone. :) We have a small unique homey place in downtown Budapest. We are located close to the main downtown tracks and sights (Danube-bank, Market Hall, Gellert-hill, curative thermal baths, museums). Other advantages of the neighborhood are: supermarket, grocery, pharmacy, post office, vegetarian restaurant, spiritual center, cafes, bars and clubs. The perfect hostel for those who are traveling alone and like to meet others... Easy to socialize and hang together with an interesting mix of people. It´s very laid back and easy going hostel. It feels if you are home away from home!
Area: KeralaSarang is a center for learning sustainable lifestyle. The main campus is located on a remote hilltop and has been developed as a live textbook for environmental re-generation, soil regeneration, watershed management and natural farming. Our family is a growing alternative school. We have 9 children living & learning with us, from age 6 to 20 years. Gopalakrishnan and Vijayalekshmi, the founders of the school have relocated to a sub-campus for the student's art studies. Gautham, the couple's son, his wife Anuradha were supporting the school through their work. In June 2013 their tiny family, including 3 year old Hiranya and 4 month old little boy are planning to move up to the farm. We intend to work on construction using wood, repairing a well, removing soil from a check dam reservoir and cultivation of seasonal crops. On our list is also the documentation of biodiversity on the farm and a comparative study with the adjacent area. We would love hands to share the work of building a truly sustainable center for learning.
Area: EASTERN UGANDAAre you getting ready for your summer break or looking to escape the Southern Hemisphere winter and gap a year we want to help you make your vacation a memorable one. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in the following programs over the June-December period. Will you be one of them? Teach in Uganda: We need volunteers to teach in primary and secondary schools in Mbale Eastern Uganda. This is an amazing opportunity to help create a loving, creative and interactive environment for Ugandan children to flourish. Look after children in Uganda: We are looking for volunteers who can share their skills with children aged 3-5 at a daycare center and orphanage in Uganda. This program is for you if you love children and have some childcare experience or not. Farming in Uganda: we need volunteers who can encourage the awareness of local plants and biodiversity, respect for the environment and the sustainable use of soil and water. It means the passing-on of knowledge from the old to the young and a reinforced spirit of collaboration. A garden, moreover, means guaranteeing a daily supply of fresh and healthy food to local communities, improving the quality of daily life and the development of local economies. Please get in touch and pass on to your friends whom you know that can make impact
