Hello, I am a French native origionally from Paris, I speak some English thanks mostly to the work in which I have been involved. I live with one beautiful dog and a cat in a peaceful location rural France but near to shops and towns, I am a very social person and often out, there is plenty of good French on offer and I am often visited by English and French friends, and invited to BBQs, house parties etc. to which you are more than invited. I operate a plant nursery from home and this does not leave me a lot of free time to work on the house and garden, therefore projects include gardening/weeding, land clearing, D.I.Y, some painting. The house and barns, being contructed over 200 years ago, in local stone, the house is full of features and charm. I am openly gay and so it goes without saying, if you are homophobic you would be better finiding another location. I am happy that you share all meals during your stay. To the side of the property you will find a charming salt water pool, wireless internet and more peace and quiet than you could shake a stick at!Area: Andalucia
Our project is an open place for many different projects. It´s a very peaceful and laid back place where i personally find a lot of inspiration and freedom. Sometimes there are parties, yoga and meditation sessions, karate classes, art projects and photography trainings. You could join as well as an artist and/or run your own workshop out here... Finally all falls or grows with your opinions... ;)Area: Idaho
Farm Description We are a Jewish family on a small organic (non-certified) farmstead in foothills of the Rocky mountains in north-central Idaho. We are near the Clearwater River and Clearwater National Forest. We have a large vegetable garden and raise pigeons, goats, chickens and our most special crop, and the reason we live the simple life we do, is our children. Our goals are to raise our family in a healthy, country, close to the earth kind of way. So in order to do that we are wanting to finish building up raised beds in the Garden, get our new greenhouse finished and assemble and start operations in a second one. We will be setting up an area for dairy cows this spring, working on our water ram system for irrigation from our stream, salvaging a logging building and putting up a barn. Stays of at least 1 week to several months are suggested. If things work out well we are open to extended stays. We love community. We can use help from February through October. We expect Workawayers to put in 5 to 6 hours of work a day and since we are Jewish each Sabbath (Saturday) is a day off. We try to leave plenty of time for fun. Transportation from Lewiston ID and Missoula MT areas may be possible. Languages spoken here are English, some Spanish, and a smattering of Hebrew. We are very family friendly and children are more than welcome, as we have a bunch of our own. We are able to accommodate vegetarian and gluten free diets. Nearby attractions; The Clearwater river and fishing, swimming and boating is only 8 miles away. Hot springs are about an hour and half drive up river. Also nearby is the Clearwater National Forest and the Nez Perce Tribal Reservation, so exploring there can be fun as well. We are new to Workaway but old hats at community.Area: New South Wales
We are a painter and a sculptor who live and work from our waterfront home and studio on Dangar Island. We have three small children aged 8,7 and 3 years. Dangar island is situated 1hr north of Sydney by train or car and is boat assess only. The ferry runs every hour. We are keen permaculture gardeners, and have a garden filled with paintings & sculptures in amongst the fruit trees. We have a variety of subtropical fruit trees planted, happy chickens & a healthy vegetable patch. Work includes gardening, weeding, building garden paths & sheds, tree planting, maintenance of vegetable garden, making sculptures and art reproductions, painting buildings and whatever else we have to do. Must have a sense of humour and be prepared to have fun while working. Usual stay is about a week to start, however longer stays are negotiable after first few days. Although building, painting and landscaping skills would be nice the most important thing is that you are WILLING to work. We are happy to teach you new skills provided you are willing to make the effort. We have canoes and rowboats and in your spare time you are welcome to go exploring or fishing on the river estuary. Lots of great hiking and bushwalks in the surrounding national parks. Would be very happy to host Spanish, Japanese or Chinese speakers as I need to practice these languages. Must be a non smoker. We can also host couples and possibly even one or two small children too for short stays.Area: Pacific coast
Our project is a beautiful Peruvian Pacific coast ecological, artistic community founded on Vaisnava principles, strategically located on a beach, in the district of Aucallama, in the province of Huaral, one hour by bus or car (63 km) north of the capital city, Lima. We live together according to principles of non-violence, simple living and elevated thinking, and visitors can learn and experience how it is possible to live happily in harmony with nature, others, and themselves. We are looking for people that are basically open-minded and want to practice tolerance, compassion and patience.
