We welcome you to our cozy farmhouse where you can immerse yourself in the English language, reap the satisfaction of a hard days work and have some fun while you are at it! Currently seeking a dynamic and energetic individual(s), that's not afraid to get their hands dirty. Must be adaptable and flexible to 'jump in' wherever help is required that day. We have work for those who wish to be outside or inside whichever more suits your interest and abilities: helping with the Ranch duties such as: -herding cattle -fixing fences -clearing trails in the bush -cutting firewood -branding cattle -hay making -collecting eggs -cleaning the chicken coop and more. Or for those that prefer the household duties so that the lady of the house might have more time to help with the ranch: -cooking -washing dishes -weeding the garden -child minding -baking bread -hanging laundry -preserving food (jams, pickles, freezing) Or any combination of the above. As long as you are energetic and willing to learn we can put you to work! Commitment required is: 5 hours per day, 5 days per week Length of stay: negotiable Duration: work is available April 1 - September 30 (possibly longer) Should you choose to come for a work-away visit you will enjoy free room and board for the duration of your stay including: - good food, always homemade and usually home grown as well - peace and tranquility of nature - the beauty and awe of seeing wildlife in it's natural home; we have moose deer, trumpeter swans, geese, bears and more. - the satisfaction of farm work, be it helping a cow with a hard birth, completing a seasons hay making, or seeing a finished batch of homemade jam cooling in the kitchen. - fun and camaraderie, imagine a clear starry evening sharing stories and laughter around a campfire. -time for some of the many fun outdoor activities this area has to offer: fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, hiking, wildlife viewing, nature photography, wild berry picking, dirt biking, snowmobiling, relaxing by the campfire. A little bit about us: We are a small young family (one child), operating a cattle ranch in Northern BC. We have 400 + acres that we farm, a large garden, greenhouse and chickens. We make our living selling farm raised beef, eggs, homemade jams and old fashioned preserves. Our property backs onto unlimited forest and is adjacent to a beautiful lake and a close drive to hundreds more.

The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level. We are surrounded by National Parks and abundant wildlife. The property is 8.35Ha with a sub-tropical climate and has great country views to the North up to 120km on a clear day. We also have a tennis court, an outdoor cobb pizza oven, chooks/geese, two dalmatian dogs, a vegetable garden and about 300 fruit trees. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. The design of the property has been along Permaculture principles. This includes rainwater collection, composting waste disposal, integration of animals and gardens, integrated pest management and the use of limited chemicals is done in a sustainable manner. The house is designed and built by ourselves. It is large and modern and has been constructed using high mass walls and floors, good insulation in the roof, walls and double glazing throughout. Careful attention has been paid to window shading to minimise solar gain in summer and allow some heating in Winter. We transport our helpers on their day off to Tamborine mountain (a major tourist attraction) or the nearest transport centre so that they can expore the area. Wireless and hard wire internet is made available to all our helpers. We pick up our helpers from the Beenleigh Bus Transit Centre, under the big roof of the centre. This is in Beenleigh, approximately 25km South of Brisbane and is next to the Beenleigh Train station. We love lamb roasts, cuisine from different lands and good wine. We are a small backpacker hostel, located in Armenia Quindio, the heart, and the capital citiy of the coffee region in colombia, 20minutes from salento, and other beautiful coffee towns. Quindio and Eje cafetero it's definitely a region that you must see in colombia, and work in our hostel it's the perfect way to know the city, the towns around, and save money. we offer to the volunteers free accomodation, breakfast (hostel type), lunch for special price (2.500 cop) and discounts for some of the tourist activities in the area

The only way to help people understand that we have to preserve natures treasures, is to educate the next generation. Our 3 years community project aiming to educate children in rural areas of Botumsakor district, Koh Kong Province. Surrounded by the beautiful but preserve-able Cardamom Mountains we see the need to educate the people and empower them in creating new income sources apart from the traditional ones like wood cutting or hunting. So we provide English lessons and education about the local environment. By volunteering here you become part of our family, working as a team to help the whole community. We have a very flexible approach and every volunteer is asked to bring their own ideas and skills. We have setup a school that is independent from the state school for students from the village, aging 4 to 24. Many students attend both the state school and in their free time this school. We focus on English classes, which are mainly run by volunteers and Khmer co-teacher, but further classes may be developed depending on your skills. Besides English lessons the education about environmental and society issues should be the main purpose (e.g. organizing waste picking events). We do not have any full time teachers at the moment, but rely on the help of volunteers to run classes.
