We are looking for a female who can stay 2-3 months in 2012 starting in beginning April to help us with various tasks around the ranch, in exchange for getting to know our family, our local culture, and have opportunities for horseback riding and/or improving horsemanship skills. We have guests from April thru October, and have had people from 48 states and over 15 other countries here at the ranch. We are looking for someone who is open to a variety of tasks, both indoor and outdoor, and who is flexible in their work hours – meaning that the hours might be 2-3 in the morning and 2-3 in the evening rather than 5 straight. With our ala carte pricing system, every day is slightly different as what needs to be done. Helping with cooking and baking will be probably be half or more of the job. That will be more intense in the summer months, and in the spring and fall, it will be more of a variety and could include time spent gardening, stacking dead branches in the creek bottom/pasture to improving grazing for the horses. Horseback riding would be outside of the 25 hours of work time, and would come out of your free time. You would have access to our library of Parelli natural horsemanship materials .
Lastly, you will be working alongside of our children as well as Jeff and I, and so if you enjoy children or have experience with them, that would be a plus. There would be times you would be in a supervisory role for certain tasks for example, making beds, and setting the tables for meals.
We have a wide variety of people who come to our ranch, singles, couples, families, and a wide range of income levels and interests, so you will be meeting lots of people from all over, and it is never dull. Especially in the summer months, the days start earlier to prepare breakfast, so it might be tough for a night owl, as one job that you will always have is to help us cook breakfast. You will need to be prepared to start working as early as 6am in the morning, as many of our guests prefer a 7am breakfast time. Sundaywill be your day off. There is no public transportation in Western Nebraska, so if you do not bring your own vehicle you are welcome to go into town with us when we go to do our shopping and errands. There is map of our exact location on our website directions page.
You will need to purchase your own travel insurance/health insurance and provide us a copy of that prior to your arrival. as we do not insurance to cover volunteers.
If this opportunity appeals to what you are looking for, please respond with questions..

A real friendly family, living on a wonderful ranch, surrounded by vast hills and beautiful nature. To explore the ranch land by horse is an experience nobody should miss and even the food is not what I expected American food to be like, its way better.
I highly recommend this place.
