Great escape to Italy come and enjoy the incredible experience that is Tuscany!
Description
I am a writer and storyteller born in Scotland but have spent a great deal of time in Italy and I am currently living my lifelong dream of restoring the family's lovely old Tuscan villa and am looking for volunteers to help in exchange for full bed and board. We are hoping to be totally self sufficient here in this little homestead and to create an eco friendly food garden. I hope in the future to be able to host workshops here and enjoy visits from my very large and very busy family and group of friends. This is a very rural and beautiful part of Tuscany, in the mountains, surrounded by chestnut forests and rivers but close enough to the beach and skiing resorts (45 mins) to offer the best of all worlds. 20 mins from the fabulous medieval (and market) town of Pontremoli and just over an hour from Pisa, under 2 hours from Parma, Milan, Florence, Bologna and many other beautiful cities. It has everything including cheap and frequent flights to and from Pisa!

I'm looking for 2 to 3 people during 2013 (you may need to share a large bedroom). Must be over 25 yrs old, and must have experience of woodwork plastering or painting and be able to do 5 hours work per day, 5 days a week with weekends off for between 1 and 3 weeks. All of the conversion work, e.g building, plumbing and electrical has already been done this year and now the work is purely manual labour but with some plastering and tiling. Lots of outside painting and gardening maintenance, doors removed, rubbed down and repainted. Garden cleared and planted eco friendly fashion (I'm still learning). Wooden pergola built. Stone paving cleaned and relaid.

Your hosts are easy going the area is great and the natives friendly. Lots of other bonuses too. Work is definitely manual labour and experience is essential. Job will be painting, repairing broken cement and laying concrete. removing cleaning and repainting doors. Painting railings and outside walls. Clearing garden and replacing broken fence. Building a wooden pergola. In return there will be full bed and board including excellent food and a little wine or beer with evening meal. There will be plenty of free time to explore the magnificent rivers (fishing allowed with licence ) and chestnut forests surrounding the village. We spent a beautifull time with Rona and Stephen in august 2009 here in Cervara.
We used workaway for the first time last year and hosted 4 young volunteers from Latvia who stayed with us for 4 weeks. They were also new to Workaway so we had a few teething problems but all in all it was a good experience. We had no idea what to expect but they, Sanita, Yanis, Kaspar and Viola, were very hard workers and we were happy with the more
We had a beutiful round trip in Italy this summer with car, in the middle we stayed and worked at Rona's place.
Cervara is a small village up on the hills above Pontremoli and a very interesting place. Every afternoon we went for a walk because this medieval village is so much old and good looking, I have never been in such a village. There are more

Attila and Brigitta came to my place in Italy and were a delight to host. They were extremely hardworking, courteous and polite and showed excellent manners. Both of them were more than willing and able to do the tasks I asked of them. They were also easy to work with and nothing was a bother to them. I would say that both of them went beyond what more
