Family of three, mother and two sons. We live in a rural setting, close to Letterkenny and Derry surrounded by farmland and close to Lough Swilly. We have a large garden and plenty of room to host. You would have your own room and ideally blend into our fairly simple lifestyle. As i said we are a family of three, ! am 46, and my sons are 10 and 8 years, they live here most of the time but spend every other weekends with their dad. Interaction and good communication skills with kids would be an advantage. We have 2 cats so if your allergic it wouldn't work out and they have the run of the house also. I spent most of last year and so far this one too completing the renovations and extention to my home, so there are still little jobs to get done. I am an easy going very stable type of person, what you see is what you get, and i enjoy meeting new people. I have travelled some and lived in other countries also .so fairly wordly. If you are looking for somewhere to hang out for a while in a fresh and interesting location and have a good attitude towards work and communication then i think we should appeal. I trained as a ceramacist and was successfull with my own work, selling to stores all over ireland and USA, i put it on hold when i had my second son but now i am looking to get back to it. I have a studio at the back of my house why i plan to extend, so hopefully i will have a fully equiped ceramic studio on site also before the end of 2011. I am currently studying spanish and would like very much to develope my language skill, i can read spanish better than i can speak it, having someone to practice with eso seria fantastico.!!Language exchange is one of my main attractions for hosting. Gracias. Maria.Area: Alpujarra, Sierra Nevada, Granda, Andalucia, Spain
An established retreat centre offering Yoga and Detox courses in one of the most enchanting regions in Andalucia, surrounded by the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada and only half an hour by car to the Mediterranean. Our farmhouse location is a home-from-home for people who love beauty, yoga, tranquility, and above all, a place to find peace, laughter and simplicity. This is an excellent work exchange opportunity for people with an interest in yoga and who would enjoy listening to our guests, without necessarily needing to be the centre of attention. If you are open-hearted, generous, humourous, grounded and stable and are able to receive and give in equal measure, we'd like to hear from you. Self-motivation and genuine self-confidence is very important, as you will be in daily contact with staff and guests. This summer 2010 we now have a few dates of availabilty again. The person's job includes assisting in the kitchen, laying/clearing table, washing up, chatting with guests, keeping the house tidy after the cleaner goes home. Also mid-week washing & drying (mostly towels). This position suits someone with a cheerful character and an interest in people and yoga. From November to April there are fewer retreats and this is when we rebuild and upgrade. Opportunities are available for people with skills in carpentry, upholstery, general maintenance, painting, and gardening. We are Gijs, Linda and Carlos, and run Camping Redondo where you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of running a small rural camping , located 9 kms from the historic city of Tomar and one hour.s drive from Lisbon. Here we attract a very international selection of chalet, caravan and tent guests who you will be able to assist with registrations and payments in addition to offering local tourist information and advice. In the mornings we need assistance with feeding and walking the animals, cleaning duties around the camping, laundry and chalet preparation. Occasionally there will also be maintenance or gardening chores to be undertaken. In the late afternoons the children like to walk with the animals or help with their feeding. In the evenings our guests enjoy to chat over a drink at the bar-terrace and on certain evenings we offer Camp Dinners to bring everyone together which you will be able to help prepare and serve.
