Área: LeinsterWould you like to stay near the historic and beautiful sites of New Grange and the Hill of Tara, in County Meath, along with its rich history, there are beautiful gardens, walking trails, traditional music and dancing. The family are grown up but visit regularly; we have a dog and cat. You are offered your own room, broadband, and the usual household facilities, but no TV. This is a non smoking household. The house is 3 miles from the nearest bus but can do taxi runs a couple of times a week, quite happy to be a tour guide occasionally and will collect and deliver to Dublin Airport. We are trying to become more self-sufficient and are developing an organic vegetable garden, would like to compost more efficiently and keep the fruit bushes and trees in good shape, all of which need help. This would suit someone who likes gardening and has experience of pruning and general garden maintenance and who would like a pretty untamed garden to work with would be prefect. During the colder/wet days there is lots of odd jobs in the house, including cleaning and cooking. There is plenty to do and see in the area, from an nature/historical point of view but also we are only 40 minutes from Dublin city centre, which has something of interest for everyone. Check my calendar.
Área: AquitaineAvailability from late September 2014. We are an English family of 4 with a cat and we have had a house here in South West France since 2006. We came here to indulge in the French culture after my many years working for Toni & Guy in Manchester, England. My children, youngest being born here, are very French, we say they are french children with English parents, demanding three courses at each meal time and not happy with the very English sandwich. I do love it here for the fresh local produce that has not traveled the length and breadth of the world to end up on my plate. We would love to welcome you to little place of paradise.
Área: ArizonaWe are a working circus family! My husband and I have four beautiful children, two friendly dogs, and a big gorgeous home that sits on a third of an acre at the bottom of a mountain. We are in a professional band that performs frequently and our home is very musical and lively. It's difficult to put our entire vision into a small box, but here is the basis of what you would need to know: Our mission is creating community through music, art, dance, food as medicine and conscious parenting. Our vision is to provide a space for travelers and their families to come "plug in" to the resources this city has to offer, and to learn and grow with us until they are ready for their next adventure. We are looking for workers who are spiritually focused, psychic, intuitive, healers, or all of the above. While here you will have the opportunity to assist us with cultivating the land and vision. Here are some ideas of what we will need assistance with: Outdoor work and projects: Building a chicken coop Starting a garden *Done! Now we need to maintain it and keep it flourishing Building a sweat lodge Building a fire pit circle *Done! Planting fruit trees *Done! Building a dry sauna Planting bamboo Building outdoor balcony Building a geo-dome Building a drip system Setting up our 18 foot teepee *Done! Building a stage Building an outdoor kitchen (in progress) Indoor work or projects include: Rigging for aerial silks Painting (murals, artistic) Building revolving doors Planning dinners/cooking meals for the house General housework Dog walking Teaching our children about other cultures and language Facilitating Yoga classes or other body-mind-spirit activity There are enough opportunities to work and stay busy that there should be no shortage of working with things you enjoy. A happy worker is a good worker. We'll keep your hands busy so your mind can be free.
Área: RømskogOur project is the renovation of our cabin in Rømskog, which is a small village approx 90 minutes drive from Oslo. Rømskog is within the borderlands of Oslo, and is only 20 minutes drive from the Swedish border. The area is made up of very beautiful countryside and lakes. We can see a lake from our property, and can walk to it in about 10 minutes. Our cabin is set in 4000 sq metres of land. In the summer we have lots and lots of apples and berries to eat. The cabin itself is approx. 150 sqm, the inside is completely liveable but needs renovation. The lakes are an ideal place to fish and swim. There are two beaches that are about 10 minutes to cycle to. We have a small village shop just 5 minutes walk away from the cabin. You will need to be someone who likes the outdoor life, as in Rømskog there is not alot to do beside fishing, swimming and enjoying the nature (lots of great walks) . We bought the cabin two years a go with the understanding that the place needed a major renovation. So far we have done about 25% of the renovation but still have lots more to do. The help we need this time is: painting, decorating and some very light building work. You do not need to be a skilled worker, but you need to be someone who has good humour and likes to pitch in with things. The property has running hot and cold water, and an inside toilet, which is a plus for a cabin in Norway. You will get your own bed in a room shared with the other volunteer. We also have mobile internet on the property, which everyone is free to use, but we try to limit the amount of video streaming people do so we don not use up our broadband allowance. Bodil and myself have two boys, 5 years, and 3 years old. Bodil is Norwegian, and myself, David is British. Bodil, and the kids main language is Norwegian, so you will get an opportunity to learn Norwegian if you want. Currently we dont have any specific project, but occassionally we will take a volunteer on for a week or two to help us renovation work, etc - like painting etc. We treat our volunteers as if they are on a working holiday, and ensure they get enough leisure time to enjoy the beautiful nature around Rømskog.
