Área: TakWe are a small grassroots orphanage for abandoned children at the Thai-Burmese border. There are no special requirements to volunteer with us, but we are looking for mature, reliable, mentally healthy and responsible people. Our volunteers help to care and supervise the children, help to care for the animals or assist in small building projects. It depends on the individual skills, no fixed chores or times. We offer an authentic home stay in a Karen-Burmese family. You have the chance to learn cooking, soap making and we will show you our town. Mae Sot is very interesting and still off the beaten tourist track. We are located in a small village, 20 min per bicycle from the town center. We offer free accommodation for short-term volunteers (less than 4 weeks), but charge 350 Thai Baht a day for food (3 meals). For long-term volunteers (more than 6 weeks) we offer free accommodation and charge 250 baht a day. How to volunteer: 1. contact me with some infos about you plus the month/weeks you would like to volunteer 2.I will give you our blog address and you can read more about us and get probably answers for most of your questions 4.write me a message or email during when and for how long you exactly want to come 5. I will answer and make a rough reservation or tell you when we have vacancies 6.You answer me this with the first confirmation with the arrival and departure dates and I will reserve for you. 6. 2 weeks before this date you email me another time for the last confirmation of your stay Inform me please of any changes in your travel plans (can happen, no big problem if I know in time) or if you have to cancel. I need a cancellation from you, if you can't come at all. In time, not 1 day before or I will review as no show Many people reserve weeks in advance with several emails going back and forth and then decide, without letting me know, that they can't make to us. I can't guess if the silence means that everything is fine or that you won't come. This blocks places for other volunteers and creates many many problems for me who has to organize the rooms. We are not a hotel and have only limited space! My decision process, which persons I take, is influenced by their way they apply and reserve their place. How can I entrust children to people who don't manage to follow these simple steps and common sense and politeness???? If you are a vegetarian: We are not able to provide vegetarian food on a daily basis. We will provide for you all basic food as breakfast (bread and coffee or tea) plus rice or noodles and vegetables. We cook quite often vegetarian food, but not every day. The volunteers are supposed to eat the same food as we cook for the children. It is Burmese or Thai food and nutritious and not spicy. We offer bicycles for rent (30 B a day) for our volunteers for trips into town and the surroundings.

Área: Las AlpujarrasWe have an old moorish style stone house set in a small olive grove some 20 minutes walk from the small but cosmopolitan town of Orgiva. We are a couple with a son of 18 and a daughter of 20 both at Granada University. We are a friendly family, live a fairly quiet life, but like a laugh and some fun.We are early nighters mostly but guests are seperate enough that they can stay out or in late as they want as our daughter used to!. We have lived here for12 years so know the area and can advise on walks etc. Chris does some mountain biking and canoeing. Orgiva is between granada and the coast, about a 1 1/2 hr bus ride from Granada. The higher mountain valleys are easily accessible by bus and some fantastic walking
Área: 252 has. This is a cattle and agricultural ranch. Work for volunteers can be either related to production/business income, we´re about to start the first organic soybean project in the area, or to the improvement of the place for future visitors, providing ourselves with good quality food, or simply bringing into reality any idea, fantasy or art. In joy. At the end of the day, it´s the experience of developing relationships in this very special environment what really counts. Volunteers are welcome to contribute with their skills and enthusiasm in a friendly and relaxed environment. (Very good) food and acomodation provided for free. Please join us!
