Our farm consists of 90 head of cattle - calving is getting close to completed. We have 7 riding horses and 2 ponies (both ponies are needing harness work). The rest of the barnyard population is made up of chickens, ducks, cats, 5 dogs, rabbits, lambs, peacocks and of course our llama Sparky and our two pot belly pigs, Wilbur and Louie. Our farm has been hosting visitors since 2004. We are a family of 4 (daughters ages - 16 and 13yrs) and we encourage our helpers to become a part of our everyday life.Area: Provence Alpes Azur
Hello ! We are a family (Father(French), Mother(English), 2 children, (daughter15) and (son 11)who speak both languages but mostly French and it would be great to have a bit of extra English spoken in the home, never enough!) living in a village not far from Toulon, 25kms (halfway between Nice and Marseille), the medieval town of Hyères and the beach are 20kms away. The village is on the edge of the Massif des Maures, 500m and you are in the forest, great for walks and a real spot for mountain bikers.Area: British Columbia
We are a little family of 3 (Oliver, 30, Meike, 35, and Emil, 2) who are seeking connection to the land and community. We value sustainability and want to live a satisfying, healthy and creative life. We have just bought a piece of property with the intent of starting an organic farm and forming an ecovillage. We would like to invite like-minded people in our age group (20-40ish) to inquire, help out, learn and perhaps join and create a wonderful interdependent community with us. We are located only minutes north of Greenwood and only an hour from Osoyoos. 142 acres with Jewel Creek running through it. It has crown land on 3 sides and trails all around. Less than 2 km to Jewel Lake. This summer we are focusing on establishing our homestead to prepare for the winter. We are renovating a log house, one of the few buildings that are already on the land. We are planning to eventually build a cluster of natural homes designed to minimize ecological disturbance and maximize use of the fertile, previously cleared areas for organic farming and gardening. We will use building material sourced from our land as much as possible. We are big fans of cob buildings and round houses. We will produce our own power by setting up solar and hydro systems so we hope to get off grid quite quickly. Grey water will be treated naturally and used for irrigation. Composting toilets will provide humanure for some gardens and plants. We want to consume food that is produced locally, ideally on our own farm, but always sustainably. Our organic farm will supply residents and visitors with fresh, organic food; surplus can be sold on local farmer's markets (twice a week in Greenwood) and to restaurants in the area. We will build root cellars to store fruits and veggies for the winter. We are going to incorporate Permaculture principles: zoning, swales, terraces, composting, humanure, mulching, rainwater catchment, hugelkultur, just to name a few. Some of us have experience with biodynamic gardening. We look forward to meeting many cool people and are excited about what we can accomplish!Area: Montana
Do you love the outdoors and to ride horses, hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing, and seeing a plethora of wildlife from your bedroom window? Love kids? If so, we have a great opportunity for an outgoing and fun person to experience a large working ranch in the beautiful state of Montana. Hi, our names are Libby and Bryan. We raise grassfed beef in a very remote mountain valley of southwestern Montana...near Yellowstone National Park. The scenery is breathtaking and the activities and adventures are endless. Our 2000 some odd cattle are raised with love and dignity on 30,000 acres and our 30+ horses are managed in the same manner and are trained naturally. We also provide working ranch vacations to people from all over the world so you would meet folks from all walks of life. Our ranch has been written about in the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Forbes and a video was made by The Perennial Plate called. Our ranch borders Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in the pristine Centennial Valley...coined the most beautiful and remore wildlife refuge in the USA. Bryan and I are looking for some help around the house and with childcare for our 3 1/2 year old boy and 9 month old baby girl. We are seeking an outdoor minded volunteer with lots of energy and fun personality. The hours will vary depending on chores and various activities. Plenty of personal time will be alotted; horseback riding and other ranch activities are available if interested. A vehicle could also be provided for personal adventures.Area: Montana
Hi, our names are Andrew and Hilary. We are a young family with two children, our son age 4 and our daughter age 1 and are looking for a fun, easy going, responsible girl to help us care for our children this summer. We live and ranch in Centennial Valley, Montana. We raise all natural grass finished beef cattle, train horses and enjoy the wide open spaces. The ranch encompasses 30,000+ acres of mountainous terrain with a river winding through. We border the Red Rocks National Wildlife Refuge and are only 40 miles from Yellowstone National Park. We are a working ranch focused on holistic resource management. We run close to 2000 cattle and 40 horses. We also have a ranch guest program which allows people from around the country and the world to come visit and participate in ranch activities, learn about range land management, low stress stockmanship, natural horsemanship and wildlife ecology. Our house is very small but cozy but we make up for the space we lack indoors with 30,000 acres to run wild in outdoors. We also have three working dogs, two cats and lots of chickens (and sometimes a new baby calf or two that needs help getting started in life). We would love to share our life and our home and our experience with anyone who is interested in learning more about ranching, wildlife, child care and experiencing a way of life that is closely tied to the land.
