Hello! We are a busy British military family and experienced workawayers. We are living in Gutersloh, Nordrhein Westfalen, and would like our workaway volunteer to join us.

My husband Nick and I are the proud and busy parents of two little girls, aged 5 and 3, two labradors and two cats. Nick is a British army officer and has just returned from Afghanistan. This means I really need a friend and someone to help me with all family life matters! I am the family chief cook, housekeeper, child carer, dog walker etc..), and am always looking for someone who can help me on a daily basis with all the jobs around the house, playing with the children, walking the dogs etc.

The girls are great fun, love going to the beach, running around outside, trampolining, horse riding, painting, making a mess, being read to, singing, visiting the library etc etc.. We are always very busy!!

What's more I really need a friend, someone to share the adventure of a new country whilst helping with stability for my young family.

We are experienced workawayer hosts - we have had five great girls staying with us from Arizona, Germany (x 2) and 2 from UK, we did have a blip with an American girl who didn't like Germany, our animals and the lack of fluffiness of our line dried towels!!!!!

Gutersloh is lovely, full of parks, eis cafes and cycle paths and you will have the safety and security of being in the British Army protected environment.

The kind of work I think you might be able to help with would be as follows:

General housework, clearing up after meals, setting the table, unpacking shopping, ironing, hanging out laundry, taking dogs out for a walk twice a day, occasional cooking, playing with the children, helping with educational games, having fun! Just the stuff a family does on a day to day basis..

British forces home. Four bedrooms, large garden, town location next to large park, bicycle provided. Your room would be on the ground floor, with access to WC and sink. You would sleep in an antique wrought iron bed in our Scottish room.

We are looking for someone who would just fit in, not smoke or drink heavily, and would be kind and engaging with our small children and animals.. Don't be afraid of hard work, or getting up early, or demands of small people! We once had a workawayer who kept snapping at the children and then swore at my four year old. She was asked to leave very quickly!

Please don't apply if you genuinely don't like animals. We have four and they are part of our family...

I am doing a post graduate degree as well as working and raising my girls so I really need a helping hand!

Personal hygiene is also important, but not as important as kindness and honesty and high energy levels! Initiative is good too but most importantly a friend for me and my little girls..
