Description
We live 3 miles from castledermot co. kildare on a tillage farm in a house that was built by our family in 1775. It was originally a mill house so we still have the mill race for swimming. We have the usual gambit of hens, peacocks and three horses.The garden around the house needs a lots of trimming down and replanting. last summer we have had great experience with an American couple and our family, all, have enjoyed the cultural exchange.

Help also needed in the vegetable garden, also thinning saplings. Ability to use a small chain saw would be great and it would be an advantage if you could use a strimmer BUT its not a must.

We were treated as a part of the family and given a good taste of being Anglo-Irish. We were also able to visit many tourist sites in the area due to the close proximity to Dublin, Kilkenny, and Carlow. The work is hard but satisfying and completely worth it because the cooking and accommodation are absolutely amazing.
I worked for just one week, but I experienced a lot.
That time was my first workaway, so I was nervous.
However this family is so kind and great !
Work is picking fruits , cleaning windows and painting the walls.
It was fantastic work .
I also worked with canadian couple,
we could have good conversation.

We stayed for two months in Ireland and living with this lovely family was the best of our trip! the house is absolutely amazing, the food is just perfect and, the most important thing, they are lovely people!!!openminded, friendly...we really miss you all and hope to see you again!!!
