We are Louisa and Stuart, Harmonie and Phoenix
We have just finished converting our farm to in the Gers in France into organic status and are fully certified Agriculteur Biologique. We are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, only 3.5 km away from 2 little villages with all facilities including lively bar and restaurant, 12 km from market town and 30 km from large town with big commerce.
The farmhouse faces the Pyrenees mountains( 1.5 hours away) and is situated in the middle of 120 acres split in 3rds of which is woods/prairie and arable.
We currently have 2 donkeys, 15 pigs, 10 sheep and we are lambing at the moment, 50+ chickens ,2 dogs, 1 goose, lots of ducks and ducklings, I've lost count of the rabbits and 1 semi feral cat... more animals being born each week.
We are looking for people to join us with our various projects on the go throughout the year. You will need to have a good level of physical fitness to volunteer here.
We are open minded and easy going. There is never a dull moment here. .

Had a wonderful time! Louisa and Stuart are incredibly fun, nice, warm, welcoming, and interesting. Harmonie and Phoenix are loads of fun. The work is interesting and varied, the accomodations lovely and comfortable, views beautiful. They were great teachers and very helpful and patient answering all my questions about farming. Highly recommended!
Cara is great fun, intelligent, eager to learn and not afraid to get her hands stuck into any job given to her. She was awesome with the kids, apparenlty even better than me as a mummy according to my little girl. Come back any time Cara, we miss you.

Great family to stay with. Excellent range of work activities to get stuck into. Louisa and Stuart work hard to produce organically grown produce, so have good ethical standards.

Working with the Hallewells was my first experience with workaway. I'm glad to have spent a week and a half with them. We had a busy week since there were 5 workawayers staying at the farm at once, so we had a lot of group projects that needed to be done. They are very sweet people and definitely take care of the people who work with them.
Katherine is a very gentle soul. Keen to learn new stuff and happy to get her hands stuck in. Thanks for your time with us katherine and happy travelling.
Tracy and I were let down at the last minute, but it ended up being one of the best things that happened to us on our travels because it allowed us to find Stuart and Louisa! When I first arrived with Rosie to the homestead I really did not know what to think. This was my first work-away so I was still a bit of a skeptic to what it is I had volunteered for. After a wonderful meal and a nice cold beer I was right at home. The rest of my three weeks offered a new experience every day. Being here I learned so much about more
Wow! We had such an amazing time at this farm. They are the coolest people you\'ll ever meet (including the kids) with an unbelievable amount of knowledge and advice to share on so many topics! Even the hard work in the sun was fun, surrounded by the Pyrenees, bleeting goats, random chickens wandering around and of course the three fantastic pups more

An amazing Workawaying experience - great people, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, interesting and varied work, really beautiful area, delicious flapjacks and crumbles, I loved my time here.
What a tremendous fellow.... we love him and miss him. The comedy he creates is just belly achingly good.
We had a great time working with Stuart and Louisa, whether it was rugby tackling pigs or making up nicknames for all the cockerels. They were really welcoming and the cooking was enough for a positive experience by itself. The views of the countryside and the Pyrenees were not bad either. We would definitely recommend them!

These guys are particularly hardly , working outdoors in seriously cold temperatures and never complained once, they even seemed to enjoy it.
