Volunteer at a Welsh Cob riding stables in the middle of Germany
Area: Brittany
Hi, I am James and along with my partner Jennie we have purchased a former lockeepers cottage on the edge of Lac de Guerledan in Brittany. The property itself has been empty for some years, formerly owned by EDF and is situated in a stunning rural location on the banks of small lake and close to the village. Saint Aignan is a very small community village with a bar, epicerie, church, marie and school. Lac de Guerledan is a very busy resort in the summer months for french families. There are numerous watersports, fishing, walking, cycling. We have Kayaks and bikes to use. With the limited facilities that we have, we will make you as comfortable as possible and hope that we both enjoy our time together.Area: Languedoc Roussillon
We are a couple. Peter, American 58 and Bhumi, French, 53 who are living on a piece of land near St. Hippolyte du Fort in the Cevenne area of S. France. Peter came here as a workawayer early this year and met Bhumi through mutual friends. Bhumi has been developing her land here as a garden and a workspace for preparation of organic and medicinal plant products for several years. Due to an injury two years ago work stopped and Bhumi moved to town. Now with Peter's help she is back on the land putting things back into shape. We are off the grid, living in a caravan. There are terraces that offer nice private spaces for camping and a second, smaller caravan. The weather is mild and agreeable for being outside most of the day. We will provide two meals a day in exchange for a half day of help with the gardens primarily, but also with other landscaping and maintenance tasks, possibly some building or stonework. We are happy to introduce workawayers to the area which is rich in places to explore and cultural activities. Many places can be reached by bus up in the high Cevenne, Nime, Montpelier, even the beaches. A couple might be best for a week maybe two.Area: Midi Pyrenees
My husband and I are moving to a wonderful old farm in the South of France within the next few weeks. I am 43 and he’s 48 years old and we have 5 children (21, 21, 19, 17 & 11), 1 cat and are planning to buy 2 dogs very soon. My husband is Belgian and loves to cook, and I am English and work for a non-profit AIDS organisation. My 11 year old vegetarian German/English daughter lives with us, the rest of the kids come for visits. The farm is in a beautiful rural area between Toulouse and the Pyrenees, very close to Boulogne sur Gesse. For your free time we have an above ground pool, table tennis, table football, Wii, king size trampoline, dvds and cds, books and magazines, badminton, wireless internet etc. Within walking distance there is a public outdoor pool, boating lake with fishing, shops and a weekly market. The gorgeous city of Toulouse is just one hour away in one direction and the mountains just one hour south!! Nearest airports are Toulouse-Blagnac, Pau-Pyrenees and Tarbes –Lourdes.Area: Montana
Do you love the outdoors and to ride horses, hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing, and seeing a plethora of wildlife from your bedroom window? Love kids? If so, we have a great opportunity for an outgoing and fun person to experience a large working ranch in the beautiful state of Montana. Hi, our names are Libby and Bryan. We raise grassfed beef in a very remote mountain valley of southwestern Montana...near Yellowstone National Park. The scenery is breathtaking and the activities and adventures are endless. Our 2000 some odd cattle are raised with love and dignity on 30,000 acres and our 30+ horses are managed in the same manner and are trained naturally. We also provide working ranch vacations to people from all over the world so you would meet folks from all walks of life. Our ranch has been written about in the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Forbes and a video was made by The Perennial Plate called. Our ranch borders Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in the pristine Centennial Valley...coined the most beautiful and remore wildlife refuge in the USA. Bryan and I are looking for some help around the house and with childcare for our 3 1/2 year old boy and 9 month old baby girl. We are seeking an outdoor minded volunteer with lots of energy and fun personality. The hours will vary depending on chores and various activities. Plenty of personal time will be alotted; horseback riding and other ranch activities are available if interested. A vehicle could also be provided for personal adventures.Area: Umbria/ Tuscan border
Marcus is an Architect, Lucy an Artist, very late 30s. Plus 16 month Lola who is a joyful little soul. We are restoring a large old farmhouse and turning it into an artist's retreat, where people can come and learn many aspects of art from Lucy or visiting artists. Still much to do on the house, specifically including plastering and general tidying, also painting walls, a bit of carpentry making doors and a small wall section, then furnishing, veg patch and general gardening. Support making food etc is appreciated, and Lucy is happy most days to conjur up something tasty. Marcus really appreciates someone to work with, we both love getting to know our visitors, learning things and the general good feeling of reciprosity. It feels this house was meant to have more people in it as in the past it once functioned that way. All help needed asap please! We are very keen to have people now onwards. We are not available for June or second week in July. But we are working pretty hard up until then, after july we will calm down a bit. Lovely food guaranteed. Fancy an art or pasta or bread making lesson, or pizza made in the old bread oven? Come with us for trips into town for weekly markets. Our only animals are 4 freerange chickens we want to fence in a bit now.
