    Description

If you want to see how can be succeeded to become self-sufficient, you need to meet Yuksel who is the owner of this farm. Shehas moved to a container with her British husband in her farm long long time ago after working for many years in TRT (Turkish State TV Channel) as documentarist and newsperson. She created a heaven in her land that was considered as "nothing grows here" by her neighbours with belief, determination and exertion. She tells that she didnt leave the farm 12 years even for 12 days when it is asked how she succeeded it. She has citrus trees, pomegranate and avocado pears; a rich vegetable garden, grapevines, chickens, goats and gooses in her farm. Shel is a splendid nature observer. It's a great pleasure to listen the nature history of Datca, where and when you can see baby partridges, the nature of blackbirds and swallows and how to procure a superb oliveoil from her.

Despite her advanced age, Mrs. Yuksel is trying to get through a lot of jobs such as garden works and animal husbandry but she cant do all. Thus, she needs patient and hard-working volunteers. Mrs. Yuksel takes the volunteers to show around and/or a picnic depends on the volume of the jobs sometimes.

Her farm is just 5 min away to the beach that you can watch a great sunset while you are relieving the tiredness of the day. If you want to experience eco-farming with an experience old journalist and farmer, you should visit this farm.
