We are starting a cultural centre and auberge that will function out of a lovely old chapel and a seven bedroom farm house in the beautiful Eastern Townships of Quebec. The studio has no religious affiliation. Volunteers will work with us on both the house and church as well as the surrounding property, which is located in a peaceful village in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. The official opening date of Staycation Studios is the first of July, 2012.Area: Bocas del toro

We have an organic coffee and fruit farm nestled in a small valley of mountains located in Costa Rica. The farm has become a haven for animals in need of care and we currently have seven dogs, three pigs, a cat, rabbit and horse on the property. Our interest is in having an individual/s with interest in nature, animals and enjoying the food of the land. We strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prefer caretakers who are the same (No drinkers, smokers or drug users). We are very committed to helping animals in need, and won't compromise that commitment by allowing any type of animal product consumption by our guests on the farm. Even though not all our previous volunteers were vegetarian or vegan, they all ate vegan while staying with us. That has held true for tourist guests as well. If you want to learn about the traditions and language of the people from this beautiful region and assist with our farm projects, contact us for more information.Area: Vasterbötten

I am Judith, married with 4 children ages 21 girl in university, 16 girl in high school/ 13 boy in high school and my last son is 11 yrs in class 6 .I have a graduate degree in Biblical studies and Theology. About the school : Our school education center offers primary school to High School. It is a community-run school providing secondary education, elementary and Primary education to orphans and other children from disadvantaged backgrounds. We have over 150 pupils and students, both girls and boys, aged between 2yrs and 17. We are located in Kitale Municipalities near Kipsongo Slums of Kitale town 2km from the town center. The school is run on Christian principles, and accepts children regardless of their religion, tribe, ethnicity or political background. Some students come from the nearby slums, while others come from the rural areas, with others living at the center Trans Nzoia district is home to thousands of orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children due to high rate of HIV/AIDS prevalence, unending violent tribal clashes, absolute poverty and lack of knowledge about children’s rights. There are many internally displaced and landless families, unaccompanied and neglected children. Solution The children’s home will be a solace to these orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children. The plan is to get abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children below five years and provide them with shelter, food, education and training until they reach the age of eighteen years. The home targets to support one hundred children at one time. The children will be accommodated in five houses and attend school in the neighborhoods. We offer them a home with 80 orphaned vulnerable children living at our center. We have a school that caters for their educations needs. We help 150 access education with 70 on home based care program. We also have a community outreach program to help vulnerable widows who are living with H.I.V/AIDS. We are training them on entrepreneurship to economically empower them to help provide food for their children.
