Área: BulgariaWe are taking enquirers for September/October/ November. That work will include - pickling and preserving from the summers' harvest, harvesting our first batch of honey (hopefully), wood tasks - collecting, chopping and stacking, replanting the field with spring crops for 2015 and long with a bunch of other daily things. Please get in touch if you fancy spending some of the autumn in Bulgaria with us!! .................................................................... Dancho and I (Elly) need a bit of help with the management of a beautiful garden, numerous fruit trees, and a new plot of 2000m2 which we are working towards being full of vegetables. We are down as new hosts but there have been volunteers helping here over the last 7 years and loads has happened because of their help and enthusiasm. We were both involved with volunteers during that time but now are looking forwards to doing the hosting ourselves. We hope you will be able to come and volunteers with us?! Dancho is from this village and I have been living here about 3 years.
Área: HawaiiWe are a home schooling family of 5, 'mixed breed' Australian/USA, with 2 odd, yet loveable cats. Due to my husband's military service (USN & USMC) we do move a lot, but loved Oahu so much we have bought a house here. We live in Kailua, on the island of Oahu with what has been labeled as the worlds best beach. I, as an Australian, would disagree, but each to their own :D. There is a bus stop just up the street from our house, and we have a bike you may borrow as well. Kailua has great beaches, and many lovely hikes of varying degrees of difficulty. Scuba diving and snorkeling are also great, especially during our summer. Surfing is great, though we are not surfers, you could teach us. Same with paddle boarding! Our days are usually well scheduled, however since we homeschool we have the ability to be more flexible with sudden changes of whim or necessity. Our children, 16, 14 and 12 love visitors. Two are avid musicians; Ms. 14 plays the concert pedal harp, and Mr. 12 is studying classical guitar. Mr. 16 is studying piano under duress :D I, Anne-Elizabeth, am the Australian hailing from the outback of Western Australia, and my husband, Jeff, is the ever suffering yet supportive American. Actually, Jeff is a great support, and for us Australians, a great sport. We are also a volunteer foster family for the, specializing in kittens. So we may have some little bundles of fur running around, or a sick one recovering. Although you won't be responsible for them, we ask you to be very accommodating with them. On top of that we do have two cats of our own: Tubby (12), from Italy, and Charlie (10) who comes from Virginia. Both have their own medical needs. Our house is somewhat typical of an 'island' home here. Meaning there were changes and extensions built on over the years. We don't have many steps to deal with. We don't have air-conditioning, but our rooms have ceiling fans, and when the trade-winds are in, they blow through our house very nicely. We are a Christian family and do attend church on Sunday. If you are Christian, but of a different denomination, we will gladly assist you to where you can worship. If you are not Christian, then we will not expect or pressure you to join us, and will be just as happy to assist you with what you may want to do on Sunday. An ideal Workawayer for our family would be friendly, respectful, and have a strong sense of integrity of them-self and their work. An individual who is willing to be a part of our family, yet feel confident enough to strike out on their own if they so desire. If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will reply as quickly as we can with as precise information etc. as you need. Clear and open communication is of utmost importance to us and for you.
