A breathtaking location nestled in the woodlands.
There is so much wild life around, deer, amazing birds and wild flowers. We have the main house finished so you will have accommodation inside or you can camp out under the stars. you will have cooking facilities and shared bathroom. Ideally we need someone who is capable and willing to build the cabins, compost loos and we are open to any other creative ideas.
2 people currently live in the main house and both are good cooks ;) We are ready to start now so if you have some time please get in touch we'd love to have you here. We are a 10 mins from Clifton Suspension bridge. We are surrounded by woodland and there are many walking and mountain bike trail. We are also 15 mins from the sea.
I am a disable person and by the grace of God i got a sponsor and he assisted us to established an organisation to care for the orphans, needy and the disabled in our community. we have started in year 2005 and now we have also started a school project to educate these kids for free so that they can benefit free quality education. some of the children pay one Ghana cedi so that we can add some for their canteen for the day.and this may be one of the last meal for some kids. our sponsor passed away and we are now looking for volunteers to come and assist us in teaching, games, etc
we also started small restaurant in order to create an income to support the school. so we are looking for volunteers who are waiter/waitress
We run a small ecological tented retreat centre We grow vegetables, believe in organic farming and sustainabililty through tourism. In summer we recieve guests who come to partake in the programs we offer.
SORRY ALL, WE ARE FULL UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2014. WE ONLY HAVE SPACE FOR INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS, NO COUPLES/FRIENDS.
We've just bought a house/shop in the west of Ireland and are slowly renovating the building so we can live there. I (Martin) am a psychotherapist on a career break and I (Olga) am a massage therapist/reflexologist and also work part-time in the airport as a customer service officer. Long-term, we hope to create an eco-hostel/holistic therapy centre/art gallery/veggie café but it will probably not open until early 2015. In the meantime, we hope to make the house as sustainable as possible with the budget we have. We hope to create a rainwater harvester, solar water heater, dry toilet and perhaps a rocket stove with back-boiler. Also, we plan to develop an edible garden using permaculture principles. We're hoping to design and build worm composters and possibly beehives. In an ideal world we'll have built a sauna before winter too but it's not priority.
We are looking for positive, creative and highly motivated people to add a good energy to the place and help our dream become a reality. We are well travelled and really hope to welcome people from all cultures.
I need trades at this point... so if you have proven skills in carpentry, first fix electrics, lime plastering etc. you would be most welcome. For others, I will be happy to accept you once again when that time returns.
You'll be helping restore an historic (15th/17th/19th century) stone townhouse attached to castle battlements which I'm renovating to create a craft gallery and space to teach and share creative workshops, and a couple of studio apartments in the attic for holiday rentals.
