Camping / outdoor spa on an island, North of Norway
Area: Nolfolk Island South Pacific
Volunteering with our Foundation is a unique opportunity to be a part of an exciting new eco village, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow showcase project based right here on Norfolk Island. The project is in its initial stages, and we are offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be involved in this pivotal project. The EPCOT showcase is one of the most exciting projects in the South Pacific and is also becoming known as of one of the most important research centres in the region, and we want you to be involved! Our volunteers will be based usually at this project, but soon will have the opportunity to be based elsewhere on the Island as well.Area: Tuscany
I am an English sculptress looking to start a gallery with other artists out here. I need duplicates of my work. I live in a big, restored, stone villa in Tuscany, part of which is used for summer rental, and look after my very elderly mother. This is a beautiful, rural area which offers escape from the pressures of modern life. It is central and well-placed for trips to famous historic centres, but use of public transport is risky. You need to have special skills or be Italian to master the bus timetable. Apart from a sculpture technician it is a good workaway situation for retired couples or a self -sufficient, handy man -type person from Europe, travelling by car. It is really not a comfortable place for student backpackers. The restoration of the farm buildings and the making of a garden on a steep slope, has been a 20 yr project, so , while there is still work to do, the maintenance is piling up. During the winter months it is good to have helpful friends around with plenty of interests and skills to share. A retired architect couple stayed here from Jan to June 2009 and we had a great exchange. They liked the area so much that they are now working to move here so are unavailable for 2010.Area: Vejer
We´re always looking for nice workawayers to come and help in the garden and with other projects we have goinging on. At the moment we can offer free accommodation in return for 3hours work a day. We´re a family of 3 (Me and my 2 kids) but there are quite often other Workawayers aroound. We 5 km from great beaches and 4km from a typical Spanish village . Couples are welcome too.Area: Nothern Territory
A refuge for orphaned or injured native animals near a National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is the ideal place for rehabilitated Kangaroos to be released back into the wild. On our project these animals are fed and nurtured with great care and dedication. The property is a private piece of Australian bushland, founded the by resident owner on her own initiative. The idea grew out of her love for Kangaroos and other native animals. The property was purchased in 1995. It was a virgin block of native bushland, with no access road from the main highway. An eight kilometre long dirt road had to be established. we have single handedly carved from the bush a wonderful and peaceful way of life.
