Description

A 240 acres holding located on Clare Island, off the Mayo coast of Ireland.
The land is mostly mountain land grazed by a flock of sheep and a small herd of horses, but there's also a 10 acre native woodland, and we are always planting more tree. We have sheep, horses, hens and a flock of ducks, as well as the usual cats and dogs. We grow some of our vegetables and fruit in our gardens and polytunnels.
We also run a successful yoga and meditation retreat centre.

Work

We are looking for people to help us with ongoing building projects, gardening, farm work, house maintenance, minding our 7 years old son and our 4 year old daughter, cleaning, cooking, and the general running of the farm and retreat centre.
Non smokers only, preferably people with an interest in organic / biodynamic food production, sustainable living, yoga, meditation or horses. 6 days hard work / week (about 7 hours / day, most of it outdoor).
Unless you have been with us before or have a very specific skill (organic gardening, experience working with horses, eco-building, etc.) that is relevant to us, we ask you to commit to a minimum stay of 2 weeks. and preference is given to those who would like to come for longer periods of time.
We have room for volunteers from the 8th of April 2010.
