Description
Hello together,
We are located next to a forest with lots of open space around, but also close to the city of Kaiserslautern (20 km). The nearest train station is in the village of Enkenbach-Alsenborn (3 km).
As we are always busy with our farm, we are looking for people helping us with our everyday family tasks – you could help in the household, help in our small garden where we plant and grow vegetables and herbs for ourselves eating. And at our house there is always some renovation and construction work to do. As a hobby we have also some horses and donkeys, there you could also help us for example with feeding and mucking out their stables.
Of course, you are welcome to have a look in our farm work if you are interested – but the main tasks are done by our community people.
At the farm we mainly speak German and Dutch. We also speak English quite well, except for the children, who are already learning English and are happy to learn some more words ;-)
In terms of accommodation, we can offer our workawayers two nice caravans. The kitchen and bathroom is always available. We are happy to cook and share our meals together, and – if the weather allows – sit around a bonfire and exchange thoughts and stories after a hard day’s work. There may be days, when the workawayers also cook for themselves. The foodstuff is provided by us.
Would you like to learn a different language (German or Dutch), new skills, and experience another culture? Do you like working in a beautiful setting, together with a young open-minded family and some more peoples living here? Then you are welcome in any period! :-)
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch and ask. As we are always very busy working on our farm, we may not reply instantly, but will get in touch as soon as we can.
We're looking forward to meet you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
By joining our family and everyday life, you will learn about Dutch and German culture, about similarities and differences, and we ourselves are also open for new ideas and how our helpers look at things. By interacting with the other people helping on our farm and the local community you will also get different cultural insights.

Help
As mentioned above, we can always use help in our everyday life beside the farm work, such as our vegetable/herbal garden, process the harvested vegetables and fruits, such as cherries, work in the household, but also construction and renovation work at our house, for example painting the shutters of our house,… As well maybe you can also take care of the two children – doing homework with them, playing football, make some drawings with them or just play a little bit with them.
But we also have some hobby animals such as horses, donkeys, dogs, rabbits and chickens. With them we are also happy to have some helpers, as there is always something to do with: feeding them, mucking our the stables, walking with the dogs or donkeys,…
We generally appreciate helpers who don’t shy away from physical work and are open to different tasks they can help with. In return we will help with all the tasks and are happy to share some work together and having some good talks together.Languages

What else ...
We live in a beautiful setting with a lot of nature around. Exploring the surroundings by bike, hiking or on horses is a great possibility. The are some villages and the larger city of Kaiserslautern nearby where you can get to by train or car. There is a lot of contact with the local communities, and we like to organise events on our farm for them when the time allows. Our kids enjoy their freedom on the farm and like to play all day when they are not at school. We appreciate the good moments together, but also mind own space and privacy when needed. We are generally open-minded towards other cultures and religions and like to exchange thoughts about life.
