Hello!

Our names are Sofia and Martina!

We are a young couple travelling both together and independently, looking to get to know new environments through local and sustainable work and human (and non-human) connections.


Martina is an Italian philosophy graduate. Sunny and outgoing, she is permanently enthusiastic for whatever comes her way, powered by communal living and political engagement. She has varied previous work experiences and is excited to expand her skills in hospitality, gardening/farming, tending to animals. An eager and fast learner, she wholeheartedly dedicates herself to any task she’s presented with.

Sofia is an Italian-American graduate who works as a cook and manages a wood-carving workshop. They are a hardworking and pacific being, passionate about experimenting with handywork and eager to learn more and more practical skills, such as in carpentry and farm work.

Martina has experience in teaching English to people with a variety of linguistic and ethnic backgrounds. She can also teach Italian, and would love to engage in language exchanges. Currently she is particularly keen on learning French.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Martina is a great communicator, an energetic team-player and a proactive worker. She has experience in education, as she worked both as a language instructor, karate instructor, and violin teacher. She has volounteered in Bologna high schools with non-formal education projects and with an NGO supporting refugees in Greece. From these experiences she has gained plenty of organizational and event planning skills, as well empathetic human relations skills and an ability to adapt to various tasks and environments.

Sofia is a cook and beginner woodcarver with good manual abilities. They have experience in basic woodwork, house maintenance and gardening. Most importantly, they are a fast and eager learner of all practical trades. They are a kind and accommodating teamworker, but can also work independently and adapt to various tasks.

We are both passionate about folk and local music, we are avid mountain hikers and nature lovers. We love taking dips in cool streams and spending time with dogs. We're always excited to try local food specialties and get to know the history and folklore of where we travel.
Martina plays the violin, sings all the time and loves learning folk dances. She likes to talk to anything that moves (or not even) and laying under trees. She also loves playing games and engaging in literally any group activity.
Sofia loves learning random facts, ranging from plants and trees to history and traditional building practices. They play guitar and love the Blues, and has gotten into spooncarving in the last year. They are a beginner climber, appreciates a good beer, and likes going on adventures with new friends!
