Hi! I'm a 23-year-old who loves learning languages and spending time with children. I grew up speaking both English (my native language) and Mandarin Chinese (my second language), then studied Spanish for eight years in school/university and learned French during the five months I spent in France as an au pair to the sweetest 3-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl. After that, I spent a month in Italy to learn Italian and am currently self-studying German and Portuguese in England, where I'm helping a single mom to a 13-year-old boy with cooking and other household chores.

Most of my love of travelling is a result of having divided my time between the University of St Andrews (in Scotland) and College of William & Mary (in the US), having enrolled in a Joint Degree Programme to get my first-class degree in English literature (with a minor in philosophy). Following my graduation last year, I went on a two-month-long trip around Europe with my father and younger brother, visiting twelve amazing countries and loving every second of it.

I really enjoy swimming and ballroom dancing, as well as baking, photography, and being active/spending time outdoors. Now that I've learnt to do a handstand, I am constantly practicing wherever I go, working on my balance so I can hold it for even longer. I love challenging myself to learn new skills and adapt to different environments, so I would really appreciate the chance to contribute to your family in any way that I can.

I absolutely adore being around kids, as I find their boundless joy and excitement so wonderfully beautiful (and unfailingly contagious :)). I am the middle of three, and I have always taken care of my brother who is five years younger than me: teaching him to read, use fractions, swim, and most recently, ballroom dance, so I know how important it is to foster a relationship of trust and respect so that you can work with kids and not be perceived as working 'against' them. I find I have a tremendous amount of patience with children and love empowering them to solve their own problems and grow their self-confidence.

I am also very proactive and always more than happy to help out wherever is needed :). I am very detail-oriented and meticulous, so I make sure that all my work is completed to a very high standard.

I truly cherish and am eternally grateful for all the amazing memories and experiences my previous hosts have given me (whilst living in different European countries), so I always try to repay this kindness in any way that I can. (I find the greatest joy in all the littlest things in life, so I love making everyday moments special in some small way :)).

I taught Spanish to 8-year-old students in the US, as well as English to students in France (ages 3-5 and 9-11). I would love to continue practicing my French, as well as learn German, Danish and Portuguese.

Quais são suas habilidades?

In addition to my native language English, I can speak and understand Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and French, as well as a bit of Italian.

As an au pair in France, I took care of a 3-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl: preparing meals, cleaning, dressing and bathing the little one, helping the older one with homework, as well as driving the kids to school and the park on a daily basis.

I also have years of experience tutoring children aged 4-18.
