I stayed at Madreselva for nearly 4 weeks and if I hadn't already booked my trip back, I would have never left. During my time there I did some weeding, helped varnishing a container, cleaned and prepared the bell tents for guests, helped in the kitchen during a retreat and assited with installing a new way to store their tools and materials. I meet various other volunteers during my time there which made the experience even more special. Eva and Jon really care about their volunteers. Most of the times Eva explained my tasks to me and then gave me space to do them on my own. She is also an amazing cook. All of us shared delicous lunch together, along with lots of laughters and great conversations. In my free time I went to Lisbon and Sintra, walked along the coast (for example to Cabo da Roca) and through the forrest or enjoyed Madreselva and the amazing atmosphere there. Their 3 dogs are the best, they are really cute and were always happy to cuddle or accompany me in walks. Madreselva is an amazing place there you can get back in touch with yourselfe and nature and interchange with like-minded people.

We spent a week with Nina and Lawrence (I wish we could have stayed longer!). The work we did included removing stone floors, old plasters, gardening and general outdoor cleaning. The work was carefully planned by the hosts, we always knew what we would do and what tools to use. Nina and Lawrence are nice and open hosts. Nina has a lot of knowledge about herbs, thanks to her we learned a lot about them. In the evenings we usually played cards. We are glad we could spend some time in such a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by forest. Of course we recommend Nina and Lawrence as hosts! We wish you a quick completion of the project. See you!

It was a real pleasure to welcome Marcel who is a pleasant person and an excellent garderner .

Nos quedabamos diez dias con Andres y fue un placer ayudarle en las tareas diarias. Hemos aprendido el proceso del kambucha y fue muy interesante. Andres esta un buen profesor y tiene paciencia para explicarnos que hacer. Tambien, hemos pasado tiempo con su dos peras guapas y hizimos un poco de limpieza. Es un lugar tranquilo para encontrar un poco de paz en la capital. Andres ha compartido el tiempo que podia con nosotras, nos ha regalado ricos platos tipicos (esta el rey de las sopaipillas) y nos ha dado informaciones sobre la ciudad y los lugares donde queriamos ir. Andres esta abierto a cualquier ideas para mejorar su lugar de vida. Le recomandamos !

Amazing experience in danish fjords with Peter ! he's very nice and open mind, WE had a lot of laughs together and the job was easy to do ! i meet an another Workaway'er there, WE were a good team, Peter, Ida and me ! 💪😁 thanks !

I assisted Stefan for over a year. During my stay, I learned a lot from his experience. He's a really intelligent man, and I gained valuable insights from him. He also helped me quickly learn German. Additionally, I felt like part of the family during my time there, which made the experience even more special. I also had the opportunity to participate in many activities and meet new people, enriching my overall experience.

Marion joined us as a volunteer for two weeks during our Third Term last year and fitted in very well with everybody and was very respectful of our culture. She helped with one-on-one reading for children who had fallen behind. When we received new volunteers she welcomed them and helped to settle in quickly. She was of great help to the Manager assisting with various administration tasks. We wish her the very best of luck with her future volunteering.

I had planned to stay three weeks at the hostel;  i left after seven weeks. And just, because i had a flight to catch, otherwise i would have loved to stay longer. Christa is a positive and impressive person: she has an incredible amount of ideas and energy, and talking to her is very inspiring. She has created a magical place, which feels so cozy and welcoming- it makes it hard to leave ;) The team at the hostel is just lovely, and the dormitory is a clean and cozy place. Around the hostel there are many interesting projects going on. You are going to meet many locals christa is working and friends with. The impact of her work is incredible. I have met many wonderful and creative people there, it was a interesting insight to the shona- culture. The work is easy and i just loved walking with the cute and friendly dog Sascha. Christa took us out to many different occasions  and made sure we saw the most beautiful places in the Eastern Highlands and Chimanimani-Nationalpark. I can really recommend this place and i would love to come back. thank you so much for this amazing experience!

I spent almost a month with Zeljka and her animals in this beautiful sanctuary. It is an experience that I recommend everyone to do, especially those who love animals or are simply intrigued by them and want to deepen their knowledge and their way of life. Zeljka is always willing to explain her view on animals and share as much information as possible about them, she is a kind and patient woman. Among other things, when she can, she prepares excellent, mouth-watering vegan dishes for her volunteers. The experience with animals is very constructive as well as pleasant, you become attached almost immediately and then you begin to perceive the personalities of each individual animal. As for the place, it is fantastic! Immersed in nature and with lots of space available. Furthermore, the town of Daruvar is lovely and offers all kinds of activities: swimming pool, spa, cinema with English-language films, parks, restaurants, shops, excursions in the area, etc. I therefore highly recommend everyone to visit this place, it is an experience worth it!

Sherin is very mature and used to travel on her own around the world. She is easy going, has a good spirit and always a smile on her face. She is smart and learns very fast. Because some unexpected issues she arrived at our farm when we left all ready to work in an other country. She took over all the tasks from an other volunteer and took care of all our 50 rescued animals on her own!! She was alone for 2 days and did a great job, afterwards she introduced other volunteers at our farm. She also took care of the warmshowerguests and when there was an emergency with someone she handled it very professional. We can really recommend her and she is always welcome again!! It's was nice to have her around!

This was a wonderful and unique work experience in scenic mid-coast Maine! Erin and Josh were great hosts and I am grateful for the opportunity I had to work on this amazing restoration project and get to know them, mostly through the great stories that were told during break and lunch (usually filled with humor and laughter!). I got to make hundreds of bungs (which I actually enjoyed) and install some of them and was given the project of wooding the bowsprit, sanding and re-epoxying it (which I also enjoyed very much). I'm sorry that I wasn't able to stay to see the boat put in the water, but I hope one day to stand on the deck with a view of sea and sky and an entirely different view of the bowsprit! Lucio and Sara brings so much positive energy and joy, and I can recommend them to everyone that wants a fun, social couple helping them. Lucio came alone this time and he stayed 3 weeks. He did the work that we requested without any problems, and was really good with the dogs. Calm and secure. Sara came for a shorter visit, and even though she did not work with us that time, I belive she would be great aswell. We welcome them both back to the family at any time😘

Staying with Françoise was a lovely experience. From the start I felt welcomed, and at ease, which is always important for workaways! She also took me and another workawayer to her local dance classes and events, which were great to experience the regional culture! The work was pleasant and never too strenuous. She is great at setting boundaries and making the difference between work and rest clear. The cats were also a treat to be around 😊. She also taught me how to relax, and how to take care of myself. She is very knowledgeable and cares about her guests. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would strongly reccomend it to anyone interested. Merci Françoise

We had great 3 weeks with Jané. She was a good worker, very pleasant person, easy going, just a perfect helper. Thanks and stay in touch.

Aljaz was well liked by all staff and children. They said that he was very social and friendly. Aljaz encouraged children to love nature. He was committed to helping children who had challenges or had fallen behind in their reading with one-on-one reading practice. He focused on the library to make it more user friendly and also conducted basic computer lessons for pupils. After school he supported the girls who stayed at the dormitory with their homework. He gave 100% in everything he did and we are very grateful for his time volunteering with us. We wish him the best of luck in his next volunteering position.

With this wonderful family, we had our first Workaway experience. Sarah, Javier, Sofi, and Nico made us feel at home; they were an incredibly loving family and made us feel like part of the family. We shared many moments, we learned a lot about their animals, their culture, their customs, and about Italy, and we had a great time. We worked with them on weekends, doing various tasks from which we learned a lot. Then we were free during the week, so we took the opportunity to visit Lucca, which is a beautiful city worth visiting! If you're in this area of Tuscany, we highly recommend visiting these amazing hosts! Thanks for everything!

Mark was a pure joy to have here on our land. He was enthusiastic, inspirational and a really solid worker who became our friend over the 3 weeks he stayed here at our home. He was a self starter and had the confidence to suggest creative solutions to problems were weren't even aware we had (until he fixed them!). He was incredible around our kids and inspired them to be involved as well. It was almost like having Marry Poppins her in some ways as his touch on our land and our hearts extended far beyond the conventional working relationship. He was also good with our pets and we would have him back in a heartbeat. Happy Days for sure!!!

We had a wonderful time with Nikki and Colin. They were super generous hosts who made us feel at ease. The accommodation is comfy and it's nice that you have your own space. Food was lovely and plentiful - you won't go hungry here that's for sure. There was an attention to detail that we really appreciated. And the stars of the show the animals. We learnt so much about how to look after them and loved every minute of it. You need to be prepared to pick up a lot of poo but frankly if you're not prepared to do that I don't know why you would apply to come to an animal sanctuary. The work was varied and Nikki and Colin had a very relaxed attitude to everything, always making sure we weren't pushing ourselves too much in the heat. We felt that we were being useful to them and I truly hope we were. We adored Marley and Rocky the dogs and we loved playing with Fats and Ella the goats. The surrounding area had some lovely hikes and it was a 15 minute trot down to the local bar. A really wonderful place to come and we can highly recommend the experience.

How can we describe Grazia and Davide? They are just outstanding people. Super helpful, super kind, very responsible, always curious and keen to help. They helped us with renovations and gardening in an amazing performance and went above and beyond to help us out in the very limited time that we had. Good luck guys and we recommend you always 10/10.

What a wonderful people are Alessandra and Daniele, not to forget their animals. We felt very welcome and everything you do/can do is greatly appreciated. We helped them for 3 weeks (unfortunately we couldn't stay longer due to our schedule). There is work to be done in all kinds of areas. it is a nice and cozy place to work for both the host and the camping guests. We were well taken care of and the atmosphere was very pleasant. thank you so much for this nice period and we will definitely come back!!!
